Robbie Trocchia (b. 1991, Red Bank NJ) works across performance, sound, video, installation, sculpture, and writing. In his performances and multimedia installations, he explores themes of embodiment, desire, interconnection, intimacy, selfhood and collectivity. He has presented work in New York, Los Angeles, Miami, and San Francisco. Robbie was awarded a Visual Art Fellowship at Vermont Studio Center in January 2025. He has also participated in residencies at Locust Projects (Miami), Espacio Lavadero (Granada), and Espai Souvenir (Barcelona). He received his BA in American Studies from Vassar College in 2014 and his MFA in Digital Arts and New Media from University of California, Santa Cruz in 2024 where his thesis project eroto-system was awarded the Coha-Gunderson Prize in Speculative Futures by The Humanities Institute. In Fall 2025, Robbie and collaborator Nicki Duval presented Death Spiral at Colgate University and bout at INVERSE Performance Art Festival at The Momentary in Bentonville, Arkansas.
